Several reviewers seem to like this product but have trouble getting a decent size fountain head from it.I have a 12,500 gall in-ground pool (salt) and I use the POOLSKIM (available from Amazon) to collect floating leaves and debris. The Poolskim calls for most of the returning water (from the pump) to flow through its outlet thus causing a vortex to form on the surface near its mouth.I have four return outlets and use them as follows: -Two are restricted using the Hayward Directional Slotted Opening replacement parts (available here on Amazon)One other is dedicated to the PoolskimThe final outlet is hooks up to this fountainThe connection to the fountain contains a twisting throat aperture which controls how much water flows into the fountain. I keep mine mostly open only allowing a litter return water through and it lifts the water about two feet into the air.When fully closed - forcing all the water through the fountain - it is about 5 to 6 feet high, even with the Poolskim fully operational.I operate the fountain whenever the pool pump is on and find it helps to combat algae. Apparently, aerating the water causes the pH to rise but I have not noticed any problems with this.For the money versus the ease of use and the eye-catching effect, It receives a well deserved 5 stars from me.
